No Toll Collection On ORR For Now

K.Tarakarama Rao, Minister for MAUD (Municipal Administration and Urban Development) on Friday directed HMDA to stop collection of toll tax on Outer Ring Road until November 24. This decision was taken in view of stiff opposition by vehicle users on the stretch.

Meanwhile, a few parts of the Outer Ring Road witnessed traffic jams due to the non-availability of the new notes. Also many commuters were refusing to pay the tax asking the operators to suspend collections. A jam was also scene at the Nanakramguda junction on Friday.

The Outer Ring Road is operated by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority. It does not fall under state or national Highways authorities. The toll collection was suspended from November 8 to 14 after the high denomination notes were removed.
